Schedule and the school day

• We run on a nine-day cycle.
• There are eight 50-minute periods in the day plus a 10-minute homeroom period.
• There is no passing time.
• Usually period 5 is lunchtime in G6-8 and period 6 is lunchtime in G9-12 .
• There is a morning break between 10.30 and 10.45 (G6-8) or 11.20 and 11.35 G9-12).
• In the upper grades, there are usually two double and three single periods in the day, so older students rarely have more than five different subjects in one day.

Most classes meet for seven periods in the nine-day cycle. The exceptions are:  IB higher level classes (8); grade 9 and 10 options (6); MYP arts (5); IT/DT, PE, and G6-8 electives (4); and life skills (2).
